ParticipantNot sure of a model number, I have looked everywhere (except underneath) for some sort of data label/serial number identification – downfalls of buying at the low end of the market I guess. However I do know that a DMPU module ref. 546021401 is fitted, along with a 512011600 motor.
Sympton:
At certain stages in several cycles the main Earth Trip trips. After trying to narrow exactly when it trips, it appears to do everything except a high speed spin. i.e. water in, slow spin, pump out is OK.Question:
How can I conclusivley work out whether it is the module at fault or the motor? I have watched a cycle virtually all the way through with the motor disconnected (from the DMPU) without any tripping. However using a std fluke multimeter I cannot find an earth fault on the motor itself. Many Thanks
P.S. I am an electronic/electrical design eng. so this should be easy, I’m just not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain of the motor configuration/connections.

I would suggest meggering the motor for earth leakage as your first port of call.
For the benefit of future readers, this should be done with the power disconnected.

It spins, it trips on high spin according to the OP.

op says it does everything except high spin i have read it again and he doesnt say it trips on high spin.
modules dont trip switches in my experience, i would check the wiring which goes to the motor in case it is rubbing on the tub.
plug out.
i would disconnect the heater and try it on spin.June 11, 2007 at 8:45 am #216157mrfilly

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your input. Having metered the motor, found the earth fault was on the motor.
Have been quoted £150 for a replacement, don’t think this is viable on a £240 6yr old macine…..
By the way found the model number, M3010W.
Cheers
