ParticipantHi I have an Electra AWM 1100B and the drum is unable to turn/spin and makes a horrible noise. Initially thought this was the brushes but now believe this is an induction motor and controlled by an electronic module. Having hunted through this forum looks like this module is faulty and needs replacing or possibly the capacitor.
The part number on the electronic module is 546013401 and has H7 written on it. It looks a bit like the module in the spares section but this is part number 546013501.
Also which capacitor correct for this machine?
Can anyone comment and direct me to the correct part to get my washing machine back up and working!!!
Thanks

546013401 is the part number of that circuit board.
the capacitor will have its rating stamped on the side of it normally it would be 20 microfarads, but you had better check it.
what kind of noise does it make? can you turn the drum by hand?
when you put it to spin unloaded does it try to turn?April 29, 2007 at 9:56 pm #212161Simon46

Don’t worry washing machine is off and unplugged from mains and water!!
It makes a horrible loud buzzing sound and the drum has been getting more difficult for the motor to turn for some months now. Empty it turns ok, with a load it struggles. You can see the machine trying to turn but doesn’t appear to have the strength to turn. By hand the drums turns without resistance.

S.Just to close this thread down nicely I would like to thank all those who contributed. I replaced the capacitor and it has done the trick. I now have a fully working washing machine again for £10 – the joy of the internet. Cheers
