The drum on my machine does not spin but the pump and other functions seem fine and the belt is attached and tight, I think it may need new brushes, any advice no how to replace the brushes would be most welcome, as would any other ideas as to what the problem could be.

“Electra” is the old electricity board’s own brand name, it could be one of a few different manufacturers to be honest.

Check the machine over for the rating plate and let us have the model number, we should be able to advise further then 😀

    pull out the plug

    take the top off

if the motor is on the rear right hand side on top then machine is creda

brushes are two black holders clipped into the rear of motor fairly simple to replace but beware when you try to remove them as i have had customers damage the motor trying to release clip

if your in doubt call local engineer or take out the whole motor and take it to a local dealer who wiill fit brush safely for a few pounds

look in repairs@ to see if there is a member listed
