My son has recently bought an all-electric one-bed starter home. Although there was a cooker in place he threw it out as it was not what he wanted and he claimed it didn’t work, etc, etc. Needless to say he didn’t take any details of it. I now find he has a 30amp supply to the cooker point. Am I correct in thinking he will be restricted to buying a new cooker with a maximum power consumption of less than about 7kW? Or have I missed something ? If my reasoning is correct can anyone recommend a suitable appliance that will run of a 30amp supply ?
