    Good morning,

Does anyone know of any companies that re-condition w/m electric motors?

I have a LG w/m Model: WM12230FB that has developed a dreadful whining noise, that worsens the higher the spin speed.

A new motor is in the region of £140 and wondered if it could be overhauled,or have the bearings renewed.

    Best wishes,

have you tried taking out motor and dropping a bit of light oil on the bearings ( like 3 in 1 but dont use too much) this will soak into bearing and quieten things down

hold motor vertical, clean bearing cover ,drip in oil , spin motor to work in. invert motor remove tacho if in the way and repeat process

done this many times and it works a treat. As long as you tell customer what you are doing and if noise returns it will cost more

    Many thanks Dave,

Carried out lubrication to motor as advised… all ok.

Hoping it will last a while.

    Thanks again,
