Electric Showers

Just replied to a post in trade spares regarding an Electric Shower and wondered how many of us repair them. I do quite a few and find them a good little earner as not many tradesmen want to touch them, Is it a plumber or a sparks job?Did one today a Triton T80SI needed a new stabiliser valve Made £48.00 for 20 Min work customer very happy as he was quoted £165 for a replacement unit. Could do them all day.

Goose , It was my post in the trade spares forum and thanks for that , I`ll try them in the morning. It is actually my own shower but I have done the odd electric shower repair over the years but don`t do them as a rule. Good luck to you if you are comfortable repairing them and I certainly think there is a market there as an add on to existing business.

Yep, showers and storage heaters are a good little earner 😀

Most of the spares like inlet solenoids and microswitches for showers are easily obtained from the usual sources, elements and stats for heaters can be obtained from quite a few places as well (Washvac/HRPC/Woolysilly :roll:) etc..

Triton have a very good website, similar to the Bosch one in some ways with full parts diagrams and online ordering etc.

Have done a couple of repairs on my own although I used a solenoid from a W/Dryer condensor valve the last time.
