I’ve had my Electrolux washing machine and dryer (EWD 1409 1) for several years now without any problems.

I arrived back home last night to find the electrics in the kitchen had been tripped. I turned them back on and noticed that my washing machine was making a clicking noise. I tried turning it off and on again but the problem persisted. It looks like the washing machine tripped the electrics.

The digital display is blank and nothing happens if I turn the dial. The clicking sound is still continuing, around second between each click.

Do I need to call out an engineer or is this something I can fix please?

    Many thanks in advance.

Hmmmm? Sounds expensive. Clicking would probably be coming from the main circuit board located close to the Start/Pause button. Is the clicking noise coming from that area?

The clicking is coming from the top right hand corner, directly behind the dial.

I placed my hand on the machine and there’s a slight vibration when it clicks as well. It’s like a loud clock.

That’s what I feared. Best to call out a local engineer to have a look.
