ParticipantHi
Firstly I have to say I am not really a practical man, but my daughter’s Electrolux 1200 machine is not working properly. When you switch it on it starts to fill then after a few seconds the dial starts to click around goes through all the programmes and finishes.
I assume that it must be a timer or board fault.
Is it easy to replace these parts yourself.
As its built into the kitchen unit I suppose that you have to somehow slid it out first to be able to get the new parts in.
Any idea what the costs of the parts might be? as the the machine has been very lightly used even thou its 4 or 5 years old now but the apartment was empty for nearly 3 years. Would it be better to scrap the machine and get a new one?
Money is very tight at the moment thats why I am considering the repairs myself
Thanks for you help

Not the wisest assumption to make. 😉
The control boards are serious money on these and the fault may be nothing at all to do with the board.
A qualified local independent engineer should be able to run the diagnostics test routine to identify the source of the problem.
Given your words in your opening sentence I would strongly advise that you go down that route.
It would need removing from under the units for almost all repairs, also these are not the easiest machine to work on.
A decent machine, you should have it looked at before discarding it..

In responce to the moderator, unfortunately the model mentioned does not have a diagnostics routine.
It does have an older form of mechanical timer with attached module.
To the poster, have you tried cleaning the filter ?
