Have just come home to find Electrolux Chest Freezer – about 5 years old – beeping away with the warning lights and temperature flashing. My partner brightly tells me that ‘this happened last week’ and that she made it go away by unplugging it and then reconnecting – which I’ve just done and it’s worked; obviously, there’s a problem somewhere, however.
I can’t put my hands on the manual and the Electrolux brochure download link on the web doesn’t seem to be working.
If any of this doesn’t make sense, it’s because everything in my refrigeration world seems to be conking out at the moment (I had a problem with a fridge failing because it was in a cold garage and your guys were helpful in explaining that, about a month ago) – and just before Christmas! I’m probably not thinking very straight, but any help would be very gratefully received, especially if there’s any ground for optimism that I don’t need to buy a new freezer as well as a fridge!
    Thanks in advance

    Just wondering………
On closer examination (now that I’ve calmed down a bit), there’s a ridge of solid frosting which stands just proud of the door and, although it doesn’t seem to prevent it closing properly (the rubber seal appears to close round it), could that be allowing air to enter and thus raise the temp?
You guys are extraordinarily patient (or you give the impression of being!)……
