    Hello,
My old dryer served me great for many years, and I like to keep it.
recently, error E50 appears some time after starting. When I start it again, the error appears again after some time. after 5-6 times like that, the dryer complete the drying successfully.
The technician ans for a lot of money to come and fix it, like half the price of a new machine. I like to fix it myself. Can you please advice what is the procedure to follow?
    thanks !

the E50 series of error codes deal with motor problems

yes, I know. is there a way to check if it is the motor it self or the board? since the failure is not permanent…
is there something I can fix rather than replace?
    thanks

well if its not permanent then we can rule out
    E51, E53 possibly and E54

    that leaves E52.
E53 could be if it was an intermittant fault on the board the other 2 just fail and there is no half measure

have you checked motor is clear of lint and nothing is keeping it warm

A possibility could be the motor reversing relay on the PCB. I had one in the past that was intermittent whereby sometimes the motor would just stop instead of changing direction

thanks dave for your advises and time, Dave. it looks like a motor failure. Maybe the bearing. It is 13 years old…
