Electrolux EKC6047X PN 94852216900 Grill wont heat fully

Hi all,

I’m used to repairing Vacuum cleaners as you might be able to guess by the username, however, I’m branching out in Ovens eventually and have a faulty oneim trying to repair for practice.

I have the above make Oven, it is electric free standing and an infrared grill element. however, the grill is heating up, but not fully. It only heats up a little, not enough to grill anything.

Is the fault likely to be the grill element itself ?

We need to jump through the hoops.

The grill element is controlled by the thermostat for the top oven.

There is also a cooling fan there as well as an overheat thermostat, from what I can see there is not fan initiation thermostat so I would presume that the cooling fan should kick in as the oven or grill fires up.

If that fan has failed or is not running correctly you would get the sort of fault you describe as the temperature rises and it cuts out on overheat, kicking back in as it cools off.

If it doesn’t cycle like that then you are possibly looking at the thermostat but, ordinarily, if they fail they either fail open of closed so you get all or nothing.

Similar applies to the overheat thermostat, it will either work or not as it’s a simple on or off affair.

Thanks, I hope it can still be the grill element as I have already ordered on the fly 🙂 I will look at the fan next i that doesnt work
