ParticipantHi,
I wonder if anyone can help. I have an Electrolux EOB5630X electric oven (PNC 944 182 598) which does not power on. The power light lights up, as does the clock/timer, but nothing else works. No fans, no light, no heat to oven or grill. The clock has been set, and no timer is enabled.
Reading posts on the internet seemed to point to the thermal cut-out, but I have replaced that and there is no difference. I’ve tested that there is continuity on the overheat protection thermostat (there is). Should there be continuity on the thermal cut-out? (There isn’t, even on the new one). Anything else I can test?
Thanks for your help.

I would have a good look at the contacts on the switch behind the left hand knob. sounds like a contact has burnt out
think you may find the thermostat you have turns the fan on so should be open until it gets hot

Overheat stat should be closed, thermal cut out open. So your investigations so far are spot on and on track. What I think may be the problem(s) are: 1) The timer contacts themselves have failed and whilst it appears to be on manual there is no switched power out.(new Timer) or: 2) The Selector switch has burnt contacts and that may need replacing.
It’s either one or the other IMHO 🙂

Thanks for both your replies. I have had a look at both the rotary switch and the circuit board. Both appear to have marks that could indicate a failure! The selector switch has a black mark both top and bottom around a few contacts, though the contacts themselves look the same as all the others. The circuit board has a couple of blackened terminals coming out of the white Schrack labelled relay. I have attached photos. Is one or the other of these black marks definitive evidence of a failure, or is there some way of testing them? Thanks again for your help.
