ParticipantDear UK WG
I posted the following thread on a well known money saving website, a user kindly advised to replace the following part
Electrolux Cooker Overheat Protection Thermostat for EOB5630W UK
I replaced it but it made no difference to the fault. A user also directed me to this site as the problem was too specific. Please can anyone help with this problem as I cant afford to replace my oven or the call out charges for an enginner.
Many thanks

HiI have an Electrolux EOB5630W fan assisted electric oven, its about 4 years old. Out of the blue the oven seems to cut out when it reaches about 100 degrees, the fan will stop, the light will go out and the heating element switches off.
There is still power to the oven as the power light is still on. I thought this would be a simple case of replacing the thermostat BUT when this fault occurs its different to the thermostats normal operation…Normal – the oven reaches temp and the heating element switches off, the light and fan stay on.
My fault – before the oven reaches temp – everything switches off (light, fan, element). I then have to wait for hours before it will come back on, usually once I’ve switched off an on the main power switch.
Any help would be great as a neighbor had the same problem but spent money on a new oven – I haven’t got money (
Thanks
Joe

Thanks for replying, here is a link to the part I have already replaced (which has made no difference)
Shall I try the Oven Cooling Fan Control you have suggested?
Many thanks again!

The oven cooling fan stat is a well documented, common cause of this fault.

What was the part number of the item you fitted. It wasn’t THIS one was it?
I CAN confirm that it was indeed the “Oven Cooling Fan Control/Stat”, i replaced this with ease and the oven now operates correctly – problem fixed many thanks all!
