The oven control panel was overheating and the oven kept turning off. This forum explained that likely fault was cooling fan thermostat on top of oven and on inspection it was burnt out so I ordered this from UKwhitegoods.co.uk and replaced it. Now the oven does not overheat or turn off but the cooling fan remains on continuously even when the oven is cold and the only way to switch it off is to turn the oven off from the mains. When the oven is turned back on from the mains the cooling fan starts again immediately and stays on indefinitely unless switched off from mains again. Is the new thermostat faulty or is there another problem. Many thanks

Sounds like you’ve fitted the wrong stat, they are normally oc until it get to the required temperature. A simple continuity test would confirm this
