It could be a number of things Steve to be honest.
I can’t access the Electrolux tech website tonight as it appears to be undergoing some maintenance……
Is the unit frost free ? (I think it is) If so, try a total defrost as the freezer section may be blocked with ice restricting the cold air from reaching the fridge section, check for obvious air inlets and outlets (vents) in the fridge please before doing this as some frost free units have a conventional fridge evaporator 😉

hi,defrosting has not worked,so i dont know ,
#1 the fridge light is on
#2 the compessor/motor is hot
#3 the fridge on top does not cool at all
#4 the ” radiator ” inside the fridge on the back wall is normally icey – it is room temp.
#5 the freezer below is working fine
#6 the fridgefreezer seems to be making all the normal ” sounds “
any help would be much appreciated, steveAugust 8, 2005 at 7:31 am #144104Dave_Conway

OK, I have the info now.
It isn’t frost free as you say and it may well be the fridge thermostat as this unit has a solenoid device that diverts/sends gas to the fridge when required.
Part number is 2112680000 at £27.33 inc VAT and delivery.
If you’re unsure though and need a definite diagnosis, check Repairs@ for an engineer, or if you decide to check yourself, power off first please :plug:
I can order the thermostat for you, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk please.

Steve, you will definatley need the genuine thermostat on this one, a universal stat wont work.

hi, well guys, the universal stat arrived this morning and i can confirm it is a load of sh!te. it does not have the single pole changeover switch fitted to the original but in stead an arrangement of two series switches ! the original is on its way 😳 , thanks to all.

It’s perfectly suitable for the purpose it was intended, hence the reason I didn’t suggest it as it is not suitable for your model 😉
Please feel free to return it for a refund as long as no attempt has been made to fit it 🙂
