KeymasterI have a 4 year old ER7620 larder fridge which over the last week has started to show a build-up of frost on the inside rear of the fridge. I’ve checked the drainage hole and the is clear, and I have removed any dust from the condensor etc. The fridge is in a utility room, so not too warm, with plenty of space around it for air flow.
Any ideas most appreciated 💡
Thanks,
PaulJuly 31, 2005 at 9:10 am #143660admin

Sorry, forgot to add, the fridge is also working overtime, and the contents are starting to freeze up.
Is it worth emptying it and switching it off for a few hours, and then trying it again?

ParticipantThanks John.
Are thermostats easy to fit? Or should I be getting a professional to do it?

Hi Paul
Not a hard job to replace thermostat if not sure call in a engineer we charge around £55 to supply and fit but prices vary from company to company try Repairs@ if you have a go yourself Power off first

Any more suggestions on this one?
I’ve changed the thermostat…..well, I think I have, the Electroxlux spares web site lists it as a temperature regulator.

Temperature regulator is the same thing Paul, to confirm though, what’s the part number on the bag it came in ?
When fitting, did you kink/damage the capillary tube ?
If all appears OK then you may have a system problem, best ask an engineer to call and check it for you, try repairs@

two thermostats for this one paul depends on PNC number pt number 2262141167 fits is the most common fitting all 5 models ER7620c and part number 2262199116 fits ER7620b but if you have fitted a stat what is still the problem ??

Part no. 2262141167, and when fitting the unit, yes the capillary tube did get a bit bent, but not badly. Do you think this will have broken it?
Tried Repairs@ but no-one in my area, so I’ll have a browse through the yellow pages later.
Problem remains in that it is bady frosting up on the back, altering the temp setting has no effect, and everything is freezing.
Any other thoughts?

More than likely, it’s a gas filled tube and any tight bend or kink will stop it reacting correctly.
You could try another one or get an engineer out, what’s your postcode there ? I may be able to supply a name and phone number from a list I have 🙂

That’s Martin’s area but he doesn’t repair refrigeration products. Last year or earlier this year he recommended someone for another Reading area user.
Martin ? 😀
