KeymasterIs this the first Electrolux query, most seem to be ‘Diplomat’?
Anyway we have owned this dishwasher for only 18months (just out of guarantee) and until recently it has been fine. We live in a medium hard water area, but I am never sure how much salt to put in because it is a very poor indicator that bobs up on a flot that you can never see anyway.
However, now it is suffering from numerous intermittent faults. Sometimes the soap tablet drops, but the water does not start filling. Othertimes it stops near the end of a programme, sometimes just after it has started. When you open the door, sometimes it has not drained, othertimes it has and will run again once restarted.
I have removed the water inlet valve and cleaned the filter, no change. If you remove the side panel there is a mass of channels and tubes, some of which are black and dirty inside, but I have no idea what they do or how to clean it.
I am reluctant to call an engineer in case they come and don’t clear the root cause of the fault and we have to call them back time and again. Any suggestions as to the cause?

ParticipantThe root of your problem will almost certainly lie in the “side panel” or matrix as this directly affects fill functions. Very occasionally you get lucky and can blast it clear with a garden hose, but generally replacement is the only long term solution.
Your machine is a Zanussi in a posh frock BTW – had you searched there you will find this problem quite regularly!

Regards,
Penguin45.Thanks for the advice, I will have to try and find a supplier for a panel or just bite the bullet and call ‘Service Force’ who Electrolux recommend. I have Emailed a few spare parts suppliers but one did not stock them and the other said they don’t supply goods overseas ! P.S I live in Stafford, England!

KeymasterThere’s no problem with getting you the part at all, DAve will be able to supply it but, so far as I know as I’ve not done one, the IWMS kit is not an easy thing to do and it’s not recommended for DIY repairs.
If you do want just the part mail Dave at spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and he’ll advise pricing etc tomorrow.

It’s circa £65 inc VAT and delivery and quite a job to replace as it involves changing a few components.
Not a DIY job in all honesty, but if you’re going to have a go, I can get it for you.
Whatever you do though, whip the plug out of the socket beforehand :plug: :zap:
