Electrolux ESL6210L0 – Not finishing cycle

Hello – hoping someone can help me with this:

I have an Electrolux ESL6210LO dishwasher (PNC 911 539 079 01).

It has recently developed a fault where it does not finish a cycle – it gets nearly to the end but then does not finish. It sounds like a small pump / motor is running. Its not either the wash or drain pump, but a small white device on the left hand side of the machine [unsure what it is]. Any help appreciated on how to diagnose further or repair the issue.

I’m an electrical engineer by profession, some confident with electrical safety, wiring, voltage testing etc
