We have an Electrolux ESL6211LO dishwasher that has just started acting up.

We had the intermittent single beep error (“The appliance does not fill with water”) so we power cycled and ran again, which resulted in an intermittent three beep error (“The anti-flood device is on.”).

I disconnected the power, drain and water supply and removed the dishwasher. I tilted it forward and water emerged from the tray. So I removed the kick-plate and dried the tray, to reset the float.

I reconnected everything, except the kick-plate and powered on at the switch. I set the dishwasher off on a standard cycle. Everything seemed fine, I could see the water being pumped into the dishwasher, and all looked good. After some time filling I got the intermittent single beep error. At this stage the dishwasher had a good amount of water inside so I am not sure why there was a problem. I power cycled and ran the standard wash again. Again, I could see the water being pumped into the machine. After a short while two grey tubes that route down to the drip trap started flooding with water (I guess these are an overflow from inside the machine). These quickly filled the tray and the float rose and activated the cutoff microswitch. After this the drain pump activated and quickly lowered the level of water inside the machine.

The dishwasher is only 3 years old and is in good nick so I would really like to fix it, and would not like the bill for a new one. Any ideas?
+ I guess from my perspective the problem is related to the machine not filling properly or not thinking it is filling properly, even though there is water being pumped in.
+ It drains well and doesn’t leak and I guess that power cycling it and running it again will always lead to flooding and an overflow to the tray and the second error. Is this thinking correct?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

the water level pressure sensor has been modified on this unit due to this type of problem so you need to order the kit and fit it

OK this looks like the correct part on the Electrolux website:
    “Dishwasher Pressure Sensor Kit
    Part number: 4055346060
This part replaces the following Part Numbers: 1174954006, 1174960003, … more ›
    £26.00 IN STOCK
If the pressure sensor inside your dishwasher is defective and causing your appliance to overfill, this complete replacement pressure sensor kit may be just what you need to give your appliance a new lease of life.”

Is this ok or would you recommend another spares supplier? Also I am happy to have a go at fixing this, though if you have any instructions they would be appreciated (i.e., any links to someone that describes doing this).

    Thanks!

    Re: Electrolux ESL6211LO – Error

Sorry to re-open this thread, but I’m facing similar issues with my Zanussi dishwasher (ZDT12011FA – PCN 911 539 107 01). I see that there are two different parts available:
    1. A pressure switch (140000554067), which looks exactly the same as the original one
    2. A pressure sensor kit (4055346060), that comes with a pressure switch that looks slightly different from the original one, and additionally an air trap, an hose and some seals, that are not part of the current dishwasher configuration.
Just to be clear, did they fix the fault on the pressure switch (140000554067) itself, so I can buy it safely, or to avoid having the same issue again in the future I need to buy the kit?
The reasoning behind my question is: if the pressure switch still gives issues why do they keep selling it rather than officially replacing it with the modification kit.

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Electrolux ESL6211LO – Error

Thanks for your prompt reply. However the pressure switch is still available in the shop.electrolux.co.uk website ( https://shop.electrolux.co.uk/c/Dishwas … 0000554067 ) and the ukwhitegoods website https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/1400005 … ure-switch, and is supposedly the item purchased by the OP. I’m wondering if he managed to permanently fix the issue by replacing just the pressure switch.

    Re: Electrolux ESL6211LO – Error

the problem with the unit was not really the switch but the method od feeding the pressure to it. the mod involves fitting an uprated pressure chamber

    Re: Electrolux ESL6211LO – Error

Now I understand and I will definitely buy the kit. Thank you Dave for your clarification.
I was expecting the replacement of the pressure switch to be fairly straight forward, as I already removed it once to clean it, and this temporarily fixed the issue, but just for a couple of months. I just hope that installing the kit is not too difficult and the included instructions are simple to follow. Does it involve removing the water sump? Is any special tool required?

    Re: Electrolux ESL6211LO – Error

    All,

Just wanted to provide a very belated reply to this. The problem was solved based on the initial responses I had. It was the pressure switch and having changed it the dishwasher has been running brilliantly for the past couple of months.

I replaced the pressure switch but found that when I removed the old one was full of thick grease, so it may have worked if I just cleaned it (I really had an impressive plug of grease pop out when I turned it upside down).

Many thanks for all the responses and for helping me quickly and cheaply resolve this without needing to buy a new washer!

    Thanks.

P.S. for those interested the pressure switch is shown below. The image is taken from the front of the dishwasher with the kickplate off and switch is circled in red:

For clarity the disconnected switch is also shown circled here:

I just registered the account so that I can say thank you!

I went through the exact same problem, even the resolving process was identical.

Thank you for posting the pictures of the pressure sensor. I was able to fix it within one hour, which made me feel like an electrician. 8)

The pressure sensor was blocked with thick grease like cheese. I removed the visible grease and cleaned the internal with hot water until there is no visible blockage.

Lastly, I would recommend avoiding Electrolux if possible. This is my second Electrolux product went into problems during 3 years. All these cheapos came with the Taylor Wimpey standard kitchen.

    Re: Electrolux ESL6211LO – Error

    Hello
I’m having exactly the same issue with my Electrolux but can’t figure out how to remove the pressure switch to clean it out – any guidance would be appreciated.
I think I have located where it is by removing the base panel but can’t see the pictures above so not sure whether I’ve exactly for the correct spot.
    Any guidance would be appreciated!!
    Thanks
