ParticipantI have an ESL63010 which exhibits no error codes when in use however it doesn’t appear to be heating the water. I’ve read other posts on this forum and it seems that previously others with this fault have not been able to progress as they didn’t have the requisite tools. I have removed the unit and dissembled, checked the circuit board for obvious faults but can’t see any defective components or dry joints.
I’ve checked the resistance across the terminals to which the heater element connects to the wiring loom and am getting 0 on my multi meter. does this lack of resistance suggest that the heater element is faulty?
If not any other things to check?
The PNC for my unit is 911939244

you must be measuring wrong. if you get 0 ohms across a heater it would have gone bang. Thats a short circuit

I had wondered that after sending the message. It’s in a fairly inaccessible location so I might not have been correctly aligned.
Will have it out and try to get another measurement.

Right So I’ve had another go and I suspect my mistake first time round was that the multi meter was on 200k rather than 200, a second measure has given me a reading of about 28Ohms.

Having spotted another thread about faulty control boards, I’ve just disassembled the front panel and extracted the controller, I did check this once before for obvious signs of damage but there where none, I’ve now reexamined and can see some scorch marks on the casing in the area of the relay, they also appear to radiate down the tracks that route to the mains connection. Is this a sign of something more terminal than just a relay failure?
Can I test the relay in situ or will I need to desolder?

does not look a lot wrong with the tracks. heat is produced by the power supply for the board and that is next to the relay Over time it will discolour the plastic but its not burning
the relay could be faulty and they are cheap so worth a tryDave

I have removed the relay and tested on the bench, upon energising the coil with a 12v supply there is an audible click and I have tested continuity to be as expected.
Having now eliminated the heating element and the relay, what would be the next likely cause. Am assuming there must be some temperature sensors somewhere in the system? Could it still be another component on the control PCB?

I would put the relay back and test it first
Relay is a mechanical device you can start it working again just by handling it
temp sensor is part number 5029 93 57-00 / 9
specs for it are
4850 ? ± 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} (at 25ºC)
1205 ? ± 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} (at 60ºC)if its a lower resistance than it should be for a given temp then the timer will think its already hot enough and abort the heating phase

Hi there
I’ve got an ESL6370R0 rather than the one listed in this thread, however the same problem is occuring. I’ve replace the heater and the thermostat an still no joy. I haven’t taken the control unit out yet, but I guess this should probably be my next option…?
Any other ideas for the culprit?
The dishwasher runs through programs as normal, just not heating up.Thanks

ParticipantSorry to bump an old thread…
I had the same issue with my machine, remove and dismantled (what a nightmare to get out!).
Heater was OK, tested it on the bench briefly with mains voltage via crimps. Can confirm 28ohms is correct for its coil.
The temp sensor also had similar readings to those posted above when at room temp and plunged into hot water.
I removed the control board and tested the relay, it seems OK but buzzed a little at 12vdc, no buzzing at 13vdc+. I soldered some leads to it and monitored it in the machine. 11.5vdc came on fairly quickly on a 30min wash and the heater was drawing power again (normal wash does a long cold cycle first).
Machine is now working again – I’m thinking due to age the relay is not getting its full 12vdc and it doesn’t like it too much? Also the relay is old.
I have ordered some spares just in case. Next time – and for anyone else with the same issue – I would just dismantle the front panel to access the PCB as its much easier than getting the integrated machine out! You can remove the top black plastic part and get the PCB out… Hope this helps others… -
