ParticipantEvening guys
Can anyone help me with this appliance?
It’s chargeable to a guy I sub off sometimes and need to get it right before I throw a module on!(£113 from connect!)It lets me select a cycle but won’t actually start, door lock won’t engage, door lock just gets very warm!
It’s come to me from another engineer who fitted a new lock and display pcb then threw in the towel…
Things I’ve done…
Checked pcbs/wiring/motor/brushes,all seem ok
IR appliance at plug top <299megThings I havent done(but probably should have!!)
Not Checked socket
Not IR’d at component level
Not Put into a diagnostic type setting for a fault code(sorry Hotpoint/indesits are my bag!)
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks in advanceJamie

Your going to have to get it into diagnostics, don’t forget the dryer elements cause weird faults on these machines.
I think on your model its hold start & delay start whilst turning dial one click clockwise from off to get into diagnostics.December 2, 2015 at 8:13 pm #433319greedy

Thanks for this! I’ll give that a try and zap the elements also when I return, would diconnecting the dryer element allow the machine to complete a wash do you think?worth a try I guess
Once again many thanks it’s giving me a head ache this one I just need to know now what it is!

Disconnecting the drying element will allow the machine to complete wash cycles with no problem at all but an IR fault on the drying element would normally show at the plug top.
If the lock is getting warm then it may be worth checking that the door is aligned and shutting properly as it sounds like it is trying to operate but the slide is not back far enough.Jem

Thanks also, this is what’s pickled me a bit really, googling the fault suggested dryer elements but it certainly passed its ir ok,it makes no sounds at all just sits there as if the door hasn’t been closed, being able to select a program and watch the display change accordingly tells me the pcb is working as it should be too…
It’s plugged into a wall socket, fed off one of those horrid multi gang switch type things usually found in fancy flats(it’s on the 7th floor!) I beginning to wish I’d checked the socket first now -
