ParticipantHi,
I have Electrolux washer/dryer EWX14440W Type P1494432, Prod No 914602300|00.
I bought it about 14 months ago. I am pretty much sure the machine itslef in very good condition. I am sure it is something related to either the water supply or waste pipe.
I am trying to switch it on and it does exactly that:
1. clicks and lock the door, the green light appears on the lock symbol
2. 3-4 sec of murmuring
3. 2 clicks, door unlocked, the Play button starts to flash with greenNo red lights no error codes no nothing…
I now cannot remember what did it do in normal times… Does it immediately start to let water in ?
This question is because the ‘murmuring’ sounds to me like it tries to pump out first…
The other suspicion is that I hit it a little in the back hoping some clog will fall through and I heard loud gurgling in the sink where the waste pipe is connected.
I unscrewed the water hose and the water is OK but I am not sure if the inner pipe is not clogged. The problem here is that the guy from British Gas came to replace the water valve half a year ago and he replaced the machine water hose too and it appeared that there is no filter on the end of the hose… So potentially it could have been clogged…
However my primary suspect is the waste.. If the machine programm runs the pump-out test in first 3 sec and it is clogged than it makes sense…. But I am not sure how to check the waste pipe as it hardwired on one end as long as I can see…
Please help!

Hi
You are right about the drain for about the first 3/5 seconds. It does this to ensure it can drain and that it can detect a differental between its pressure switches before filling.
have you checked to ensure that the drain filter is clear (usually at bottom front of cabinet behind flap door? This will not help if clogged. If this is clear you will need to check drain hose output. Is it connected direct to pipework under sink? if so disconnect at that end and ensure that there is nothing blocking that end of hose.( dont let anyone use sink while doing this as you will have a flood on your hands.)
To check for water coming in turn off tap at end of hose, unscrew hose at washing machine end. Hold this end into bucket and slowly turn tap on again. water should come out at the same rate as it does from your tap at sink. If there is no/very little water then you have a blocked inlet hose or faulty tap. Check filter inside valve just where pipe screws on to the back of machine.
None of these checks involve removing lid or accessing the internal part of the machine [b]but in all cases remove plug before attemping any work on you machine.
I would suspect that if there is water to the machine and filter is clean then there could be a fault within the pressure switches or blockage in condensating chamber.HTH

Thanks!
Water is coming OK. I am going to check the waste pipe and let you know…
However I found the error code. it is Ed4
And guy who has service documentation said it is wiring, main PCB board or WD board failure….
