Electrolux freezer startup problem

I have recently had problems with the freezer when it suddenly started beeping, indicating that the temperature had dropped below safe food storage levels. We thought that simply too much ice had accumulated and emptied the freezer, defrosted and cleaned it.

However, starting it again has come with problems. Whenever I turn the knob, the green light starts flashing and the freezer sounds like it is starting up repeatedly. Pressing the fast freeze button also does not result in the amber light switching on. What could be the problem? The model we have is EUU1173.

sound like a pcb problem

not an unusual problem these days

easily fixable with the right engineer but if you call electrolux they would put a whole new board in

Is this something I can fix myself or do I need to call an engineer?

if i am right its a component on the board that has failed not difficult to an enginner who is up to date but unless you know electronics you would have to replace the whole board

you could look on ebay QER advertise on there they may repair and test this board

cost as far as i can see around £60 new
