electrolux fridge freezer—–fridge stopped working??

our 12 year old fridge freezer,has developed a fridge problem;ie the freezer works fine,but the fridge warmed up.
first action)remove all food ,switch off m/c overnight doors open.
second)switch on again,freezer refreezes OK,took about 6 hours for fridge to cool.
Also noticed upper green LED not on,should denote power on.

Would appreciate any help

The fridge is working OK this morning,but I fear next time it’s due for the auto defrost,the fault may re-appear

Intermittent thermostat by the sounds of it then.

There’s two types on this model depending on whether it’s a single or dual compressor, both are still available though.

ER2650b is a frost free model if memory serves, if the fridge isnt cold enough i suspect theres something wrong in the freezer area – either its not defrosting itself properly or theres a system fault. The green light not working is just the neon & isnt a problem unless you miss your green light. Dont reckon a new stat will fix this one, sounds like engineer time.
