ParticipantHi please can you hlep me I have an error code of 50 coming up on my machine. can I repair it? What parts will i NEED? I’m an ex Electronic, engineer DT teacher so not too bad repairing things. Tried local man he got £45 for saying dont understand it, could be the motor and to skip it. Just about new the machine used only about 15 times, if that.

It is really only about 15 times, wife says 5 but I cant believe that when I cleaned out the filters. Had for about 2 years and only used in desperation. Found out from someone else that the code E51 also flashes up. Help

check the brushes. No brushes on an induction motor? 😕
E51 is motor triac. You need to obtain a new triac, which cost a few quid, and solder it onto the PCB. Worth also meggering the motor to check insulation is okay.

Before you order something are you sure about the E51 error code? Normally this would only be shown in engineer test mode, consumer mode only shows general E50 errors.
Motor triac is three legged component on PCB motor circuit. Unless you are competent and can understand PCBs then you really need to call an engineer, as we can’t provide wiring diagrams as per forum rules.
