ParticipantNeed some help here. got this machine about a yr and a bit ago and has been working happily for the period. however last night with only ten mins of a cycle to go it stopped, started beeping and gave an err 20 code. now checking the book, that is the drainage filter (self cleaning one, which you have to clean?), so i emptied the machine, cleaned the filter and tried again, same result, will get to end of cycle and freeze. you can then wait and drain the machine but it seems to struggle with the whole cycle.
I am wondering if I need to reclean, or do someone to reset it for it too work again, but am struggling to find out how or if that can be done – so i thought i would ask the experts.
Any help appreciated. Cheers

If the filter is clean then the machine is sensing that it has not completely drained in the time allowed. That will mean checking the outlet hose and the spigot on the sink trap (if it is connected to the sink trap) for blockages. With the power off :plug: check the sump hose for foreign bodies, eg: a sock. Lean the machine back, lay down on the floor and look up under the machine. The sump hose is a concertina type on the right side of the machine from the tub to the pump housing. If all that is clear, it may indicate a failing pump or the triac that powers it (main circuit board) problems.
My money’s on a simple blockage. 😉

thanks for the reply, i had another go last night and thought for a moment i had it working, but then the bloody error code comes up again.
so far cleaned all the easily accessible bits, drums work, it drains, it spins etc but just doesnt seem to drain completely, so i like you think a blockage somewhere. will tip the machine up tonight and have a look.
thanks for the advice and i will let you know how i get on.

an update for you.
my wife it seems has no faith in my ability to fix things and called in an engineer. he took the machine out and took out the pipes, pump etc looking for a blocvk and found a button blocking a “pressure switch thingy” (her words not mine) which was slowing the flow of water causing the error code.
anyhow all fixed and i am £45 lighter. 🙁 at least she is happy.
thanks for the help and for looking in.

A happy wife would usually cost you more than £45…….consider it a bargain!!! :rotfl:
A good result all round!A.
