ModeratorAnyone else had any Electrolux (Zan and Aeg branded) pcb’s blowing recently? Machines not even in use but left swtiched on. Had 2 recently, both pre configured boards too. What happened to the convenience of carrying one board that could be configured on the machine?

i also have an aeg built in the cust used it fine went to put another load in and it was also dead,as for the inline fuse why bother when the boards only cost about 7-10 euros to produce and it keeps stock turning round.
cheers chris

Just to update this one, the AEG version, (prod # 914016192) has now been repaired. It needed a new main board and I changed the door lock as it had a brown burn mark on the outer casing (Although the board itself had not blown on the door lock part of the board as indicated in the service manual). When powered up (fingers crossed and standing well back!) it showed a E91 error which could only be cured by fitting a front display pcb as well. No further blowing though so I am guessing these boards are just going bang due to it being constanly powered up as the customer has confessed she never turned it off. She will in future as her bill was in excess of £250!
Having to buy a pre configured board is a pain though as none of the distributers keep them in stock and they have to come straight from Distripart.June 25, 2008 at 5:39 pm #255676trickydickyd

I agree with seamy. I have had a few of these pcb’s blow due to a faulty door lock. I tends to blow the pcb and can also damage any low voltage components. i.e. analogue pressure switch, user interface.
havent had one in a few weeks, guess it was a bad batch.

If anyone comes across this problem I would recomend quoting for both the main PCB and the display/ control pcb in the facia. Although not visibly blown (as the main boards were) both mine this week have required these as well. One customer agreed to pay the extra £50 or so, the other did not hence I now have a configured pcb part number: 9739 1451 75 17-01/2 hanging around should anyone want one cheap.
