    The new replacement grill element I have for the Electrolux EOB966X oven does not have a contact for an earth lead which the old element has. Is this safe to fit without?

    I would suppose that the screws securing it in place would provide an earth anyhow. You could rewire/connect the earth cable to one of the mounting screws.
    Best to contact whoever supplied the part to you as to why it has no earth, genuine part should have an earth connection i’d expect.

    Will contact the supplier, although checking through other suppliers they all seem to be selling the same element without the earth contact but saying it’s suitable for EOB966X. Makes me wonder if the old element is the genuine part – we inherited the oven on moving in & it wasn’t in working order. Many thanks for the reply.
