ParticipantHi,
I wonder as to whether any one can help me with this problem, the oven works, except that it goes off,and the fan stops working when it seems to
reach certain temperature,or after 15-20 minutes.Once it cools down it will start again. Also after this has happened the clock will also stop. The oven is an Electrolux EOB53000K,and was bought in 2009.
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for replying so promptly, but when you say that it
could be the cooling fan sensor,I cannot find any part of that
description on the whitegoods site, but do you mean that it could
be the Oven Cooling Fan Motor that I need, even though the fan does
work for a time.
Thanks

Hi,
No it is not this part,as before I posted the question on the
forum,I emailed in about this part, and was told that this part
was not on my model of oven.Has anybody got any other ideas of
what might be wrong with the oven.
Thanks

So far as I can see Bryan is correct, that is used on that model and is the most probably cause.
I can check it more with the PNC number from the rating plate but I very much doubt I’ll get a different answer.

Perhaps Ken and Bryan missed this fact?
What is the product number (PNC no) of your appliance by the way?

It is indeed a different version.
The cooling fan control stat used is this one: http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/33020810 … thermostat
Electrically it’s pretty basic, if the clock cuts out then it’s either cutting out on the overheat stat above, the thermostat isn’t operating correctly or the cooling fan allowing it to overheat or, the clock is faulty. I can’t see any other cause for the fault description but you’d need to try to suss what one it was at the root of it.
The cooling fans are known to go, listed here: http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/33048870 … -fan-motor
Those, given the fault, would be the first things I’d look at.

Hi,
Many thanks for taking the time to reply, and I will indeed try and
suss out the root of the problem, sorry to be a pain, but could I ask
you one more question,if the clock was faulty could that alone cause
the oven to stop working,or is that a seperate issue.
Many thanks

It is possible, if the oven overheats, that the clock will be cut off when the safety stat operates. I’m not sure how that one is set up but many will do that.
I’d look to find the reason for the overheating first and go from there.

I think the OP is saying that when it fails the whole oven shuts down as if the power is switched off? Then comes back on by itself? Suggesting to me that it is probably a power supply problem?

ParticipantRe: Electrolux Oven Goes Off,also the fan stops when it reac
Hi,
No it is not the power supply, just to clarify the oven
does not just come back on by itself, after it has seemed
to cool down, then we can get the oven going again by operating
the switches ourselves. Also when the oven does go off,I might
have mislead you, because the clock carry`s on working, but after
an hour or so it goes off and then shows the time as 12-00.When
the correct time is reset,it then carry`s on working ok until we
have the problem with the oven again. Also I have now noticed that
the outside of the oven is getting hot, maybe suggesting what other
people have said that the problem is the cooling fan?
Thanks

Time to check out the cooling fan then.

ParticipantRe: Electrolux Oven Goes Off,also the fan stops when it reac
Hi,
Further to my problem of a few weeks ago,I have now replaced both the
Cooling Fan Thermostat, and the the Oven Cooling Fan Motor,as advised, but
the problem is still there.
Just to recap when we put the oven on,after about 20mins or it seems when
above 200C is reached the oven just goes off,and then cannot be used until a few hours after. Also a few hours after the clock goes off,and when reset will carry on working ok.When we put the oven on there is a noise coming from it,also when the oven goes off the panel at the top of the oven around the knobs is very hot.Could it be the clock that is the
problem, but with them costing so much,I just want to make certain it is
that before I replace it.I would welcome any help.
Thanks
