ParticipantHi all, it’s a built in oven EOD ( rest of the numb wore off) but Prod number is 944171237
So far within a a year i have had to replace the fan oven fan motor 2 or 3 times, last one only lasting 3 months! The windings burn out.
As far as i can tell they are genuine products from my supplier ( but as we know packaging could be copied)
Nothing is obstructing the fan, runs freely and the last time i changed the spade connectors. Any ideas? Is there a bad batch of fans going around??

You will find the Qualtex MTR210 is not only cheaper but far less likely to burn out. As it incorporates it’s own built in cooling fan….! 😀

Unfortunately not the case, the “original” has the built in cooling fan. So i get the Qualtex, low and behold it’s the same fan but half the price!! :rolls:

The original Electrolux motor and the Qualtex one are identicle. The same one as in the photo above that you posted. The price difference was huge too!

Well the fact the Qualtex one is the same motor as the ” genuine ” one i have been replacing and if current trend follows i’ll be getting another call soon me thinks, not sure why it’s happening.

These are not prone to burning out. Usually the bearing fails if anything. I wonder if there may be an issue with whatever is connected to it, I.e. selector. I assume it stops when it ought to?

Hello Micky hows Longford keeping, i’m there regularly.
First check terminal block connections are tight.
Try putting a washer on first before the fan impellor, it will move it out a millimeter from the back wall which can help.
I’ve found on several makes of oven/cookers that the fans run too close to rear wall and don’t be able to get to full speed. So they are getting very hot and burning out. Motors are constantly being made smaller and smaller, when you look at the coil in first pic’ its no wonder it has no power to run anything.January 31, 2014 at 11:17 pm #407265Micky 32
