I have an Electrolux built-under double oven, model EOU 5330x, which is not working. The top oven/grill works fine but the fan oven does not turn on i.e. no light, no sound, nothing! I’ve checked the timer, which seems fine, and last year I replaced the element so I know it’s not the same problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Check the safety stat on the back of the oven cavity (I think) and if it’s open circuit, replace that as it’s the most likely suspect, looks like this as this is the one used in that model:

    Hope that helps.

Thanks K for your quick response. I’ve taken the oven out of the kitchen unit to have a look but it’s all sealed. Obviously I’m pretty clueless about these things so Im wondering whether its worth while for me to start taking panels off to locate the thermostat (I have isolated it from the mains) or whether after about 8 years of use it’s time to get a new oven. Basically, how easy is it to locate and replace the thermostat?

It should be pretty easy once you’ve got the back panel off.
