I have a 7 year old Electrolux Oven Model: EOB5440AOX that has started to misbehave.
Woke to find oven had tripped electrics. Switched the MCB back on and the oven display showed the clock flashing, so clicked the clock button and it tripped out again. Then I turned the power off at the remote oven switch turned the function selector knob to zero. Turned the oven switch back on once again it tripped.
So I thought it might be something to do with temperature setting dial so turned that to zero before switching the oven on again.
This time the oven stayed on and I was able to use the function dial on all it settings without it tripping, the fan turned on, however the oven light had blown, so changed the bulb and now the light works.
Now as soon as the heating dial is turned from the off position it trips.
Judging by other replies to similar situations, heating elements seem to crop up as probable causes. But I maybe going down a rabbit hole.
If it does turn out to be a heating element looking at the parts diagram for this model there are 3. Bottom, Top and Fan elements.
Which one/ones would be more likely to cause the issue?
I don’t have any testing equipment and have not removed the oven to check for anything else yet.
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction on this,
Thanks
Justin
