electrolux washer/dryer 1200spin power cuts out–HELP!

Hi Guys

I have a electrolux aqualux washer/dryer 1200spin as soon as it powers up it blows the RCD in the main circuit board, however the 13amp fuses for machine and inline spur on the wall do not blow!

Bit of a newbie to this any help would be appreciated!!!

Door lock is a good bet, but would need model number to identify for you.

model number 91467401001 — i cleaned the filter out put it on a wash it started to fill with water then blew the rcd again, that points to the door lock yeah?

Aha, the EW1200i built in washer dryer.

Given your latest post, it won’t be the door lock. That would be switch on, 1-2-3-bang. If it fills with water, the door must have locked to activate the programme. This is more likely to be a motor problem – it is activated after the fill sequence.

Which means it will have to come out………..

Power off when investigating.

Nice one fella, dont want to take the mick!! but how does this blow the main fuse box it being a 3 door interlock?+ is it easy to install?

The door lock uses a heater to energise it – this breaks down over time and will eventually short. You may have found that you’ve had to slam the door quite hard to get it to start over the last couple of months?

Door lock is on the inside of the front panel where the hook on the door goes in, so you’ll have to slip the clamp band and front of the door seal for access.

Like I said, power off….
