Electrolux washing machine inlet hose

I’ve moved into a new flat and bought an Electrolux washing machine (John Lewis white labeled it). The kitchen is small and I am struggling to fit the inlet hose as the safety valve (anti flood) doesn’t fit behind the pipes. My question is: do I need to use this specific pipe? If I used a “normal” one (without the valve) would I be damaging the machine? Hope you can help. Fiona

the valve on the pipe is a safety device in case either the hose bursts or the inlet valve in the machine sticks open

its set only to allow a certain quantity of water flow out of the tap before it stops the flow
