ParticipantHi Folks
One of those days on Friday – Mod No ESI600 but basic zanussi m/c
Had to change top basket runner wheel asys as wheels kept dropping off – you know the ones with the loose block at the back thats not suppose to drop down inside – you’ve guessed it one of them dropped down inside.
Looking at it it loose like the whole inner has to come out to refit as the side panels arn’t removable.
So before I go back just wondered if anyone else had this problem and found a way of retreving the block and refitting without inner removal.
Pretty sure block has dropped alway down to base so should be able to retreve from there but the problem is getting it down or up between side panel and into the holes in the inner tub to re screw the guide runner wheels on.
Did think if the screw holes in the block were big enough a piece of string threaded through and knotted might alow me to pull it back up and through the holes with a bit of jiggery pokey – or top off and feed down from the top.
Sure i cant be the only bloke who’s had this problem but just want to know if I’m gonna be wasting my time messing or just get on with inner tub removal?
This was a built in job and coud’nt get kitchen unit kick panel off either kitchen fitter has made to tighter fit so have left it with customer to get fitter back to get kick panel off so back after that .
Comments appreciated as well as sympathy.

I never remove both screws at the same time, only slacken one then remove the other. The wheel assembly can then be rotated and lifted clear, allowing you to fit the new wheel loosly on the now bare post before you finally remove the original wheel screw. Doing it this way means you never loose the wheel mounting.

Went back today and fixed – managed to hold fixing bracket with long pair of pointed pliers via top access down side of m/c so less of a job than expected.
Used Kentish’s tip to change other two wheels asys and worked great – you ought to post that one on hints and tips 🙂
Only problem was kitchen fitted had bracketed m/c at the rear before he put worktops on :rolls: and had to force m/c off bracket before I could get out and then refix at front Рkitchen fitters Р!ӣ${e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}^&*
Thanks for all the replies/ help and tips – much appreciated
