I have an Elica SS cooker hood that has developed an odd fault.
I have noticed that the motor runs on at a few hundred rpm once switched off and a low buzz can be heard. Once isolated/ reconnected the unit is happy for 10 – 15 minutes then a gentle buzzing can be heard – definitely coming from the motor and the motor feels quite warm at the input end. The on warning light is also permanently illuminated, it never used to be. All lights work and the three speed settings operate as they always have. It won a new capacitor just over 12 months ago.
I have stripped the motor out and there is no signs of any discolouration through overheating or any signs of damage to visible windings. I have also belled out the switch unit and it appears to make/break when selected.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
