Elica star hood (glitterball thing)

Its called an Elica Star 1XV47. the control stalk is loose, anyone know what’s needed to repair it. Apparently on install this stalk is push fitted and plugs in, feels like the plug/ socket is loose but I cannot get the stalk off and don’t want to force it as its working on its remote control at the mo and don’t want to make it worse.
If you have not seen one of these you will not have a clue what I am on about… hopefully someone out there does.

Is the socket definitely loose or has the wand become detached from the plug at the end that goes in to the socket
If you look very carefully there is a tab that holds the wand in ,gingerly prise it to one side and unplug the wand ,I have heard of people glueing them back together.
