just a quicky, does any one knoe how to check the tachos on these for adequate operatation ? keep having batches of machines with these motors giving e52’s, without any visibible pcb blowouts/failues.

also noticed in diagnostics (phase 7 ) it would NOT agitate in the required 50-ish rpm jolt cycle to test for leaks – it just filled then drained, and gave an e52 code, and then once e/code cleared/reset and tested on: (phase 8 ) its supposed to spin at 650ish rpm but these machines seemed to ramp up to approx max spin – 1400rpm, and therefore would this indicate tacho failure, or a pcb eeprom issue???

or wiring error between motor and pcb

in my experience tachos either work or not there are a one or two exceptions like the hoover motors where tacho wires break and work sometimes if you waggle wires

common fault i get is magnet unscrews and does not revolve with motor a bit of debor screw it back in fault cured

to check i normally use multimeter on a low volt setting and spin motor

    hope this helps

already metered all the wiring for continuity between board and motor. turns out we were the 2nd opinion anyway and therefore cust didnt want to prolong what they obv. felt was agony and plumped for a new w/m.

bit annoyed tho as i dont feel ive had enough time to sort/condemn it, but sold fair few of these, so will endeavour to get the the bottom of this, even if it is definitely terminal, just for my own learning.

gonna strip motor down and see if theres anything sus too like aforemetioned loose magnets 🙂

any further suggestions would be amazing – aw1400 agitates, spins in to full speed in diagnostic phase 8 but not in phase 7, cant fathom it unless its pcb. e52 recorded each time diagnostics run thru

If the magnet is still turning but is partly unscrewed it will be inducing a reduced output from the coil so it could think it’s doing 650rpm when it’s actually 1400. The output would also be reduced on the 50 rpm test. The electronics would know that the motor was being provided with enough energy to do 50 rpm but be reading a lower spin speed and therefore show a fault condition.
