I got a missed call on my phone this morning from this number – 01702 430040. I thought it could be marketing, but I decided to call it back anyway. I got through to a guy who asked me if I could do a repair to a bosch dishwasher which wouldn’t empty. It turned out to be a company called E.S.L. (Emergency services Limited). We discussed payment rates and he told me the job had to be done today. I was a bit jubious about this, but decided to give it a go. Got the customers details and slotted it in between my calls. I have called the number back a few times to inform them about the fact that it needed a new drain pump. The call was answered by what seemed to be a switch board and I was transrered to the same guy I spoke with, and in between the call transfer I heard the beeping noise you would expect to hear while dealing with a company over the phone, so I trust all is good.
Just wandered if anyone has done work for this company or is doing at the moment as Im interested to know what it’s like. I know they charge their customers £78 plus vat for the first 30 mins of a call and thats before parts….. 😯 . Im happy to fit in and among with this as long as I get paid, but I will NEVER rip anyone off as in time fiddling or fitting parts without reason. Last thing I want is to end up on TV.
I just have a suspicious mind and ok, if this job turns out to be a rip off to me then fair enough, not the end of the world, but the guy on the phone has told me there will be more work if I want it so perhaps it could it lead to better things?
I tried looking it up on the internet, but I cant find it anywhere.. Hrmmmm?
    Any feedback would be great…
    Thanks,
    Rob.

    Re: Emergency services Limited???

Personally I would have done some backround checks on this before accepting the work, sure we all like extra jobs and it will hopefully be ok for you. I had a friend the other week who was called by a company asking for a boiler repair and that as this company dealt with my company they had a 90 day account with us ! Total B****** of course, he had rang me to confirm if we knew of them. Well I told him that was not the case at all and that we could not recollect doing any work for this company. He called them back and told them that he required a labour charge upfront via card. They said they would need to check if they could do that. After a week he had heard no more so out of idle interest he gave them a call back, yes thats right no answer !! he was glad that he had not invested any time or materials in this one .

    Re: Emergency services Limited???

I had a call from them two weeks ago. A built-in diplomat diswasher on the outskirts of my area. They phoned to say the engineer they use for all other appliances didn’t want to know. I told them likewise.

I’ve been used to many times and I had a gut feeling this was going to go the same way. I will never know?

I wouldn’t touch a business that is shy of publicising it’s postal address
on it’s website WITH A LONG POLE!!!
It immediately brings to mind a business run from “granny’s front room” … here today, but most likely gone tomorrow.
