ParticipantMain oven thermostat replaced last week as oven and grill was burning everything, this resolved the problem however after only a few days the oven is not working at all, oven and grill not heating and internal light not coming on. powered the oven off for a while and powered back on and set the clock but still the same. the cooling fan isn’t seized and the thermal cut out switch, which was replaced a year ago, doesn’t look burnt, any ideas??

Check terminal block for loose connections, check cabling from terminal block, i’m afraid its testing time, time to use a multi-meter.
Power off of course when doing any checks or testing & if you are competant to do it, get someone who is.January 7, 2014 at 10:47 am #407306bighomsey

when powered applied to the oven and the oven fuction knob on the left is turned on, the oven power indicator light on the left of the clock display on the front panel comes on but when the temperature selection knob is turned on the temperature pilot light dosn’t come on and the coolinmg fan does not move!

Check this part as it can cause those sorts of symptoms…

cheers kwatt. i had a look at this part and no obvious signs of fail, the part is not burnt, i noticed reading the link that when this part fails it won’t turn on the cooling fan and therefore the oven overheats and powers off. my oven won’t even heat up, can this part stop the fan from working and the oven from turn on?

I don’t know, as Seamy says, the only way is to test with a meter and try to find out what’s gone wrong.

ok thanks. i know when the oven loses power the clock time needs to be set when powered back on or the oven, grill and light doesn’t work just like mine. but the clock has been set, not sure if clock is stuck in an auto mode or not recognising that the clock time has been set!!

Hi
Have you set the clock to manual.

I also had thought of clock but in first post it states that clock has been set. Perhaps clock unit may be faulty.

i don’t think this oven has a manual and auto setting for the clock. can the clock be bypassed so the oven is not looking for that to be set to turn on the oven?

Yes of course clock can be bypassed, its only a relay switched contact.
