Equivalents Thread?

I have a suggestion. Why not have a thread where people can tell us that a particular part will fit a particular appliance? I often struggle to get fan oven elements for obscure makes of oven and end up finding something of suitable dimensions and wattage that will fit. I have an old Homespares catalogue which gives dimensions of the various elements but I’m never sure a given one will fit until I’ve done the job. If we could pool information about such equivalents it might make life easier for all of us. Sometimes it may be possible to get a better quality part to replace dodgy OE items like the unreliable simmerstats on Belling cookers.
