KeymasterOK I have gone full circle now except that where it was emptying before, it doesn’t now!
Fill level looks OK and is consistent (specific to prog.)
I have discounted the heater as it will fill and heat a #1 – 90 degree wash no problem.
It is a magnetic pump which seems OK as you say resistance every quarter turn. Date on pump is 08/2002 Plaset Italy.
I will remove the U-Bend under sink – tomorrow now, m/c pumps cleanly into a bucket but not into waste pipe, unless bumping the m/c about has dislodged a load of limescale or something all the pipes and pump are clear.
Can you confirm sump pipe should be pipe – ball – insert – connected to drum?
…and I thought it was going to be simple…..!

You did mention in your first post that it worked ok till it was due to take conditioner,
Penguin45 has covered all other possibilities

KeymasterThanks, I have checked the syphoning of the conditioner section and it works fine…just the m/c never got to that stage before hitting E1

Let us know how you get on with your plumbing
Also quite a few machines have an eco ball in the sump hose/filter assy – It’s there to stop detergent loss when the machine is filling up

KeymasterHaving been nagged at…I have just been under the sink and removed the bit the wash m/c is plumbed into….found a load of fluff, two tiddly winks and a load of loose limscale, or similar.
Is just pumping empty and spinning on Prog 10…guess the next step is trying a wash.
Thanks to everyone for their time and help…being on social means every penny counts and I really appreciate it. Lets hope this is the last you hear from me….

I have the exact same problem and all appears OK from pump side..
even with no water in M/C and on Prog 10.
My next step is to change the brushes on the moter as they appear to be quitel worn..??February 22, 2005 at 9:50 am #123614admin

Hi All. I had my washer/dryer do this a while ago. A known problem with this washer/dryer and is due to a low resistance (less than 3.2Mohm) on the heating element in the bottom of the tub. Check the resistance between earth and the two heater terminals (remove the connections first) and you’ll probably find it to be below spec. If the resistance to earth is low simply replace the heater element. Only cost you about £10. Hope this helps.
