ParticipantHaving an error code when drying clothes (E20 )MODEL IS A Zanussi ZWD 1471S which according to the manual is a problem with the water draining. During normal wash sequence the washer works perfect it is only when the dryer is used that this error comes up. Tried looking at filters etc but looks ok.

Hello again,
If you are only getting this on the drying cycle then the first thing to do is insulation test the element and check that the dryer condenser is not clogged.Power off first please…

True, but good practice would be to split the casing and clean the condenser housing anyway.

ParticipantHi Bazza looks like my household likes these element faults, Is this an easy task to get the element tested, or if the dryer condenser is blocked is this an easy thing to spot and dismantle as unlike my cooker fault I have never stripped down a washer/dryer.

The element would be easier tested in situ(sits inside metal trunking across top of machine). Cleaning the condenser requires splitting the cabinet and removing the back half. 1 screw either side at bottom centre of appliance behind plastic cover, 3 screws at back corners(bottom 2 at drainhose side) and 2 at top in middle which you will see after lid removed. Condenser is plastic part that sits below dryer fan motor.
Power off if trying this youself please!

ParticipantThanks will try the condenser as I do not have a meter to test and is probably the easier option.
