Error Code on Ariston A1636S washing machine

My machine stopped mid cycle with LED 1 and 3 flashing (as well as the door lock). Managed to get it drained (manually) and to spin a half load. Then managed to get it to start a new wash but it stopped in the wash cycle again. Any ideas? There is also a faint sort of overheating smell too I think. The machine is now 3 years old and is used just about every day so could do with a steer on whether it is worth repairing?

Have you checked the drain filter, maybe blocked or pump faulty. try putting on drain only.
Unplug b4 checking and make sure you drain off water 1st inside machine to avoid spillage.

Managed eventually to get at the drain filter and cleared it out. However still getting error codes – now LEDs 2 and 4 flashing. If you move manually to dain or spin it will do it but gets stuck in wash cycle. Any ideas?

Possibly still some gunge in the sump, 2+4 suggests that the pressure switch (water level switch) is stuck on full.
