Brains
ParticipantWhat a company!!!
Phoned three times to try and get access to their web-site.
Because I don’t order on a frequent basis, I cannot access to their web-site and need to phone for prices and availability.
Phoned again today and was told the above.
I can’t believe that in this day and age where business is difficult that a supplier can be so difficult to do business with!! πΏ

Yep! Seems to be a fashionable trend these days with many wholesalers.:rolls:
Europart/HT Maddocks wrote:From 1st July 2008, with regret we’ve been forced to make access to the search, product range and prices granted to active customers only: those being ones who order at least once a month. Of course, we understand that there may very well be genuine circumstances why you may not be able to order regularly from us. If this is so, please do get in touch. Of course if you canβt commit to this regular monthly business then you can still ring us anytime and we can look the items up for you over the phone.

Well, I’m now looking for another supplier that is a bit more understanding and co-operative.

You’ll be hard pushed to find one Brains TBH (apart from Connect that is).
Also Masterpart & Qualtex run a similar policy to that of Europart, so the trend is set to continue in what after all is a very unpredictable trading platform. Need I dare mention Parts Center? π

This is disappointing especially as I have just spoken to Qualtex who stated that they do have this stupid cut-off policy.
Don’t really want to deal with Connect after all the bad press I have seen on the forum.
Companies like RS Components don’t cut customers off from web-site access, so what is with these tin-pot element and appliance spares companies?

Making too much money from other traders that have healthier trading habits with them maybe?

Correction to a typo:
This is disappointing especially as I have just spoken to Qualtex who stated that they do NOT have this stupid cut-off policy.

Yes, I had the same with Europart so I took the hint and do not now take the liberty of ordering spares from them. π

I mostly use Masterpart but if they don’t do it I will try Connect or Homespares. I’m stuck at the moment though, I need a pair of hinges for an Academy brand oven and I can’t find anyone who does them. π

Sorry – can’t help you with Academy Ovens.
Sounds like an Argos or Tesco ‘special’ π

what is the deal with cutting accounts off if they dont order for a while –
is it a silly attempt to get you to keep ordering ? ..it has put me off opening accounts with suppliers who trade this way – and i suppect put a few other off aswell ..
if i was them i would be glad of an order whether it was every week or 1-2 a month … what does it matter a sales a sale , how many small traders are they not getting sales from …
what next
ukw throwing you out for not posting …
