    Hi just after Christmas my washing machine (ewg14440w electrolux) displayed a e40 and e41 error. The little green light for the door locking switch wasn’t coming on.

    I replaced the door interlock (http://www.espares.co.uk/product/es4881 … lId=992416) and all was working well until yesterday.

    About 15 minutes away form the end of the 2 hour cycle, I’d guess around the time the machine was about to spin the machine showed the e41 error again and now the green light for door lock is not displayed.

    Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause of this? Thanks

    Remove the wiring connecter blocks either end of the wiring to the switch and check for any sign’s of burning out.

    Hi thanks for the reply, sorry I’ve been on holiday (not great with 3 kids and no washing machine!!!). But yes one of the little boxes is all black? Does it need new boxes and wiring?

    The best cure is to replace the harness (part no: 132 52 31-00/7) which connects the interlock with the main board. It includes the connector blocks and simply plugs into the interlock.

    Great thanks, it’s all ordered, hope it gets here soon!

    I also just tricked it into coming on (not sure it will complete the cycle?) but I set the programme and left the door open and it tried to lock and couldn’t and beeped and then I shut the door and the cycle started!?!
