There seems to still be some confusion over the Repairs@ module and how people are added to it so let me explain the why’s about it.

You are NOT automatically added to it!

Being listed in the Directory is a seperate thing altogether as we don’t have enough information there to transfer to Repairs@.

We need to have the form back for Repairs@, it’s labelled as e-Jobs (the working title) and is available in PDF format in the “Downloads” section. We need that as it gives us the skillsets that you do, i.e. whether you do gas and refrigeration work primarily so you don’t get calls for them. Seems a bit silly to give you work you don’t want and can’t do don’t you think?

It also is there so that any brands that are listed you don’t want to do we can eliminate from the list.

Again, we want to target the work you want to you, not what you don’t want!

The other bit we need is the signed last page of the UKW Charter to confirm that you agree to abide by it and, let’s face it, we didn’t exactly make that hard! This is to offer customers the assurance that they are dealing with reputable companies that provide a good service again, not hard.

The other classic I’ve heard is that we make money out Repairs@ well that is TOTALLY UNTRUE! We do not make a single penny, nadda, nothing, absolutely zip from Repairs@ and we’re never going to either from the calls passed through the system to you. We may look at sponsorship of it as it did have a cost attached, but UKW will NOT be taking money from the independent repairers or from customers for its use full stop, end of story.

I hope that’s clear enough and explains the reasons why it has been done the way that it has but if there’s any questions feel free to ask and either myself, Dave or Kevin will be able to answer them for you.

    K.
