ParticipantISE 5 sold 4/11/08 with 5 years cover
The customer has died and the new home owner has called up with a fault on the machine.
My question is does the guarantee extend to the new owner of the appliance?

Is it a Vestel or a Beko machine?

It’ll be a CSS insured warranty. :rolls:
We can try but if the details don’t tie up, assuming it was all registered correctly, to get to that point then it may slide through okay.
Only way to find out is to try.

ok so just to clarify I will tell the customer the machine is covered under guarantee.
Hopefully just a loose connection as its a e10 pcb fault. 🙁

I wouldn’t say that.
I’d say exactly what I said, we can try to present it to the insurer but if they reject it then we’re stuffed basically. If it hasn’t been changed prior then there’s a good chance they’ll kick it back given that they are trying to kick every claim that they can.
You can’t say for sure one way or the other without some clarity. And, neither can I until it’s checked out.

Ok thanks for that will charge them and tell them we will try to claim through insurance company and I will refund them in the event of the insurance company coming through.

Could this not be a bit of a ‘grey area’, I’m sure that Jackal would know better. 😉
The reason I asked what model was involved is because the BEKO/CI555WH was sold with a five year PARTS warranty, the five year labour was an option, so it was a separate contract exclusively between the original purchaser and ISE or the insurance company.
That extra five year labour cover should not be transferable.
The Vestel machine was marketed and sold by ISE has having a full, five year parts and labour warranty with absolutely no mention to the purchaser of any separate labour cover or any insurance company involvement.
If I buy a 12 month old Volvo it will come with the remainder of the three year warranty intact.
As I say a grey area which the insurance company will almost certainly wriggle out of or punt the ball back to ISE in the event of a legal challenge. 😥

I asked CSS about this today and have just got this reply back:-
Good evening Tracey,
Thank you for your enquiry. It is the appliance that is covered so yes we can amend the details of the home owner.
Many thanks,Sarah-Jane Lynn

Corporate Support SolutionsSo as long as you send us the change of details and we inform them then it should be covered. 😉
