Like most of us who are independents and regularly compete against the likes of Currys and AO when it comes to selling appliances. The thing that seems to crop up quite a lot these days about extended guarantee, I am not in the position to offer it as I do not work for any of them. i seem to recall that UKWG offered something similar in terms of extended guarantee on the basis that WTA engineers would be used to attend the appliances.

Is this still on going? And there’s one particular brand of Sirious Buying Group seems to offer extended guarantee service, on paper it looks good but what are the experiences from customers and engineers?

Do you know of any one who maybe able to help my business out on retaining customer base by offering extended guarantee that is comparable with Currys and the likes? Just that I don’t want to lose out few hundreds pounds of sale on the ground that I am unable to offer extended guarantee. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for reading this

Domestic & General rule the roost on that front. And every single brand sold and guarantee registered then D&G are on to it. So, unless you wanna be a ‘service partner’ you’d be best to steer clear of offering warranty options in my opinion.

Yup and, that’s the problem with insurance in large part just now, it could go anywhere, you’re not guaranteed the work back unless you sell significant volumes.

We dropped it some years ago due to lack of interest. There just wasn’t enough people onboard with it to make it viable.

There may be some things that may make it attractive once more in the offing but, how far out it is I really don’t know.
