Confused………….. It’s binary right to left only. First thought is draining, second is cold valve. Have another look at the lights, please.

Hi Penguin,
Thanks for your reply. I’m sorry, I don’t understand “binary”. Below is a diagram of the lights as viewed when looking at the machine. Each ‘o’ represents a light with the lit ones in red. Just to confuse things, tonight we are getting a different combination so I’ll give you both.Yesterday:

Oh boy, a couple of beauties…….
First one is 56. At it’s simplest, it’s overloading. However, syphoning (losing water/not maintaining level) can do this, as can a faulty Rotor Position Sensor. Worst case is the motor controller board playing up.
Second one is 44. This is pump related, it thinks there’s excessive water in the drum when it tries to spin.
So………… Start with the pump and check for blockages and restrictions. Ensure that the end of the hose is above the maximum possible water level in the machine, to prevent syphoning; or the machine sucking back. It’s a twist fit from underneath, so easy to get to.
Power off, of course.

From your intial post when you say it stops are you referring to no lights on washer? If this is the case more than likely the pump is overheating .(they have an internal overload) Power to Controller runs thru pump.
That can be the reason why machine will start up again after being switched off for a while (IE Pump cools Down )
Check to see how hot pump gets you may also see signs of rusting on Pump
Power OFF

Thanks both for your replies. It sounds like a combination of both these problems. We’ll proceed accordingly.
Keep up the great work.
